The Writing has Begun!

A dear friend recently wrote me saying that I hadn't updated my blog recently. The reason I haven't is twofold. First of all, I'm busy. But also, one of my nieces told me years ago that people wouldn't read my blog if I didn't use pictures, and I'm having trouble transferring pictures from my camera to my computer.

So, here goes an update without a picture. Please forgive me!

We're had a major event through Bibles International. Our director recently returned from Ghana where the Waalii Bible was dedicated for the Waala people. These poor people have waited many years for this Bible in their language. They are being challenged to read through the Bible in one year, now that they have it in their heart language--a real challenge since some of them are beginning readers!

And now for some personal news: I have finally begun writing the history of Bibles International. That's right--I've begun writing, although I have only finished two pages. But they were important pages because I've decided on the format, and how to include endnotes from atypical sources such as interviews and undated brochures. I could find nothing in my reference books about how to note those kinds of sources. I'm not finished with the research, but I've decided that I must begin writing now in order to finish it by the deadline: February 2011. Please continue praying.

I need to mention that as I key this into the computer, I'm being "helped" by Precious. She continues to give me much pleasure and I often thank the Lord for her.

Good to see a note from you. Hoping to see you at the office tomorrow. It has been a busy hectic week for us, but a good one none the less.
