Bibles International Annual Meeting, 2013

The Bibles International annual meeting was held at the Shack, a lovely bed and breakfast outside White Cloud, Michigan, August 13-15. It was a time long to be remembered. The preaching was wonderful; the music was worshipful, using mostly old hymns of the faith and involving singing and special numbers by the adults and teens; and the testimonies of what God is doing, and has done,
were wonderful. How I wish we could go back! It was particularly poignant for me,
since it was my last opportunity to attend one of these retreats. I'll be retiring at the end
of the year, so I'll no longer be a part of these meetings.

The annual consultants' seminar began yesterday, Friday, August 16, at the Grand Rapids office. Men and women who work with both Scripture translation projects and literacy projects meet once a year in our office to share their knowledge and hone their skills. This seminar will run through Friday,
the 23rd. It's always a good time for us to get to meet and relate with those who we would
usually not see, since they are scattered around the world. Ask the Lord to bless this time
of working together so that others might soon have the Word of God in their language,
and be able to read it and understand it.
