August Events

We've just returned from our annual meeting at the Shack, a lovely B&B north of Grand Rapids. I'm so thankful Bibles International requires us to go there. Otherwise, I would never be able to afford this lovely retreat. As always, the thing that was the highlight for me was the time on the back veranda (is that a word used only about porches in Africa?) where I had my personal devotions overlooking this beautiful lake. This is such a lovely setting and so quiet and peaceful. May it continue to thrive!

This year, Dr. David Pennington, a pastor from South Bend, Indiana, spoke to us. His messages, taken from Ephesians chapters four and five, were so profound. I'm praying I'll be able to put some of the things into practice that he challenged us to do in our walk with the Lord.
While I was at the Shack, my Precious was vacationing, too. She has been at the Dog House in Stevensville, Michigan, where my friend is working on training her. I know I'm biased, but isn't she an adorable little thing? She is now 13 months old and continuing to grow a bit, in spite of the fact that I would have preferred her to stay a bit smaller than she is. She's not quite 3 1/2 pounds.

While at the Shack, I got a bit of work done on my writing project, although not as much as I had hoped. I'm still working on chapter three. Pray I'll be able to finish is by the end of this week. I do need your prayers for this project. God bless you if you're already praying about it!

Both pictures are beautiful! I enjoyed The Shack, too. Did Precious learn anything while "vacationing?"
