My Assistants

These pictures show you two of my assistants. I'm so thankful for the arrival of Bobbi and Cal Biddle, classmates of mine at Cedarville. Cal is chairman of the deacon board at First Baptist Church of Princeton, Indiana, one of my supporting churches.

They arrived late last Saturday afternoon, coming to help me with the history-writing project. It turns out that Bobbi has been asked to help with another project at Bibles International, but Cal and I are working away on the book. He is doing research and organizing some of the materials I've already set aside in my research.

While he's been doing that, I've been polishing the first chapter, "Before the World Began." I think I'm up to about the ninth draft of the first chapter. I've also begun work on the second chapter, "In the Beginning."
The first chapter speaks to the question: Why have another Bible society? The second chapter answers the question: How do you start a Bible society?

Please continue to pray about work on the history book. I do need your prayers.

Today ended what was reported to be a very successful consultant seminar in our office. The main speaker was Dr. Ettien Koffi, a linguist teaching at St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Dr. Koffi is an Ivorian and is working on translating the Bible into his mother tongue, Agni. Seeing and hearing him made me homesick for Ivory Coast.

Because I'm not a consultant, I don't attend the seminar, but it's always fun to have the consultants in the office. These are people that we usually see no more than once a year, so it's good to have this opportunity to fellowship with them.

As you can see, I have another assistant when I work at home! My little Precious often sits on my lap when I work on the laptop at home. Sometimes she sits on the keyboard.

Awwww - cute photo of you with Precious! She does look bigger.
What an all-consuming project; I'm glad it sounds like it is going well though and I will continue to pray.
