Snow and Chairs

One of the major things making news in Grand Rapids this week is the season's first major snowfall. I'm thankful I've not had to drive before the streets were cleared. Praise the Lord.

This is the kind of snow I like - lining the branches of trees, as if an artist had painted them. The Lord is a terrific artist, isn't He? I believe we got about 3-5 inches of snow in my part of the world, which is enough to satisfy me!

I'm also going to take advantage of this time to show you my new rocker-recliners, which were delivered to my house shortly before I left for Christmas. Again, thank you Aunt D. They replace chairs my parents bought when they moved into a different house after the total destruction of the farmhouse in which we'd lived. A fire ravished it on a very cold day in January 1969. If you do the math, you'll realize that the previous chairs had served through more than four decades.

I wonder if these will last that long. One thing is sure. If they do, they will outlast me. I expect to be with the Lord long before then. I'm looking forward to the day I go to be with Him!

Thanks for the newest pictures. The snow is beautiful, looking out on it!! Glad you didn't have to be out and about. Your new chairs look just like the ones Don and I have had forever. He just said they need to be replaced. We have really enjoyed them and know you will too.

So glad you were able to get some new chairs. Enjoy them as you look at the beautiful outdoors from your comfy indoors.

I agree, Elaine....lovely snow.....we have a little left here in Petersburg. Totally agree with you about the chairs - expect the Lord to come back at any given moment - or, I'm so ready to go! ;o) Have a GREAT day....Carol

My new chairs are Best chairs, made in Ferdinand, IN, just a few miles from where I grew up. I thinks it's ironic that I bought chairs from there after moving up here.

Your snow is so pretty! I'm really hoping we'll have less of those scenes than last year, though. Your chairs look really pretty and comfortable, too.
