Fall 2013 at Breton Ridge

The leaves are at peak or slightly past-peak in my part of the world. Some of their pinkish tinges are absolutely delightful. I'm enjoying them immensely. The leaves are one of the primary reasons that fall is my favorite time of year. It's hard for me to understand that, because I passionately dislike winter in Michigan, and fall is certainly a harbinger of winter. Still, I love this season.

Among other events that occur in the fall season, is my birthday. I celebrated my birthday on Wednesday and received the lovely bouquet pictured above from two families in Cedarville. All of the flowers are beautiful, but this bouquet includes my favorite flower, the pink daylily. At least I think that's its name. The beautiful pink flower in the foreground is the one to which I refer. So, thanks to my friends from Cedarville, for these beautiful flowers.
And thanks to the Lord for the beautiful leaves.

I look out from my slider doors and windows and just rejoice in the beauty here, and in the fact that I'm here.
